It’s September, so it’s perfect that temperatures this week are reach the hundreds here in Southern California. Ok, not really. I’m still dreaming of buttery, leather pants, cozy knit sweaters and a stupidly awesome amount of layers. I’m thinking Free People Fall Lookbook while the weather is just tempting me to quit my job and become a mermaid. I’m trying to find a compromise because I just don’t think the whole mermaid gig is really going to work out. This look is just that — a fashion compromise. A flowy maxi with some sliders is perfect for every day of summer while a wool, wide-brim hat and all black is just so appropriate for the cooler months. If this is the outcome, we’re ok with compromising. For now at least.

It’s the weekend, and I’m topping it off with the perfect white tee and jeans. It’s basic and carefree with just enough added personality to avoid being overly basic. This outfit is ready for anything that comes my way be it sushi with my main gals or a night at #paulsforever. I’m set for a carefree, California weekend.

With four large suitcases, four carry-on’s, and a newly stamped passport, we have arrived in London. We couldn’t be more excited to call this beautiful city, and fashion paradise, our home for the next few months. We have wasted no time getting right into the London groove, traveling to see the Abby, Big Ben, Parliament, and the Eye. With much luck we were given fabulous weather which not only gave us clear views of the city, but also allowed for our fashionable efforts to not be consumed by our coats. Anna looked flawless as always in her “eye” catching skirt (check it out here), and I took the approach of a sheer floral jumper (English translation for sweatshirt) from Nordstrom and a black asymmetrical skort from Zara. At home this look would have been completed with accessories and booties, however in this chilly London air, tights and knee high boots from Sam Edelman were more appropriate. Like the buses in London I added double decker necklaces and a leather sleeved coat completes the look.
A new year and our London adventures have just started and our fashion explorations have only just begun. I can’t wait for everything thing to come and all of the fancy fashions to follow.
