I love leather. It’s got to be one of my favorite materials. It can take something simple and turn it into something magical. It’s that stand out fabric that doesn’t have to try that hard. It takes little accessorizing or thinking about what to wear with it because leather and a simple tee is all you need to be a model off duty. And boy do I miss it. It’s hot hot hot here in California, but I’m dreaming of cozying up to my leather pieces. So I decided to bust them out before the weather has cool and give them a spin that’ll work with the heat. Pairing a boho-feeling, white blouse with my leather mini and some slip-ons creates a perfect ensemble for this time of fashion transition.
Swim suits are great. But honestly, We fall in love with those one-of-a-kind, expensive ones and get sad when they’re worn only a few times in the summer months. So, we had a revelation. Why? They’re so pretty they deserve more than just being shown off pool side for a couple hours. The alternative to this dilemma? With a little subtraction here and addition there, we’ve created 4 outfits using swimwear as oh so much more than just that.
We’re thinking it’s time to throw a garden party for this outfit.

There’s something about statement, bold prints that I just can’t get away from. I’m constantly thinking ‘buy more basics’ when shopping online or skipping through the mall. But I can’t help myself; I guess I’m just not a basic bitch. I love mixing prints and layering pieces over pieces over pieces. I love things like a printed, shift dress, like this one from Soft Joie. It’s perfect enough to stand alone. But ‘one is the loneliest number,’ so why wear one piece of clothing when you could wear two or three or four. If I’m going to go basic, it still has to have pizazz. I’m thinking a monochromatic look with bold shapes or an overdose of accessories or those layers I mentioned before.
What I’m Wearing
Dress: Soft Joie
Shoes: Steve Madden
Tear Drop Necklace: Nordstrom
Voila Necklace: Forever 21
Denim is great, and dresses are fab; paired together we have ourselves a whole new fashion ball game. It’s a match up so bizarre that I can’t help but be obsessed; I’m fully manic over it. It gives life to pieces in my closet that I’m losing interest in quickly (happens way too often). I love finding new ways to wear pieces and making them feel brand new to me. The boho, Free People midi dress juxtaposed perfectly with my distressed boyfriend jeans; the dress so feminine and free-spirited, whereas, the jeans are grungy and tomboy-esque. Paired with some chunky, wooden heels and layers upon layers of necklaces and I’m set to take on the day.
We always want something. And this week, we want to look chic as the colorful lights of fireworks fill the sky and we chant “USA! USA! USA!” because we can. It’s easy to get swept away in the spirit of the Good Ole’ USA and buy a few pieces you’ll never wear again that leave you looking like a little kid holding sparklers. This year, we’re dreaming of something better. This Wednesday, we want outfit. Outfits that make this country proud for July 4th and every day afterwards. You’ll be ready for backyard barbecues, long nights beach-side, and any other patriotic pastimes you have planned.
Small but mighty are crop tops. Printed or solid, loose or flowy these pieces seem to pack a magical punch to any outfit. They’re versatile pieces that can worn in multiple ways while still making them look different time after time after time. Lacking the creative drive to figure out multiple ways to wear your prized crop tops? Look no further! We’ve found a perfect crop top with some serious adaptability and transformed it to fit in all the priorities of your life from work to play.
I saw this little striped number while I was working at Nordstrom ,and the rest is history; that baby became mine. and I was obsessed. It was simple, yet different. It was a piece I instantly fell in love with for both it’s patten and shape. I saw endless possibilities for it as a staple in both my summer and fall/winter wardrobes. So here it is for summer; at least one of the many ways I’ll be wearing it this summer. I took what could be seen as simple and took it up a notch with a great, moto-inspired vest and statement body chain then finished it off with a killer combination of holographic, pointed-toe shoes and floral socks.
Shorts are a challenge. For us at least. Too long, too short. Too bland, too much. Too high-rise, too low-rise. Too tight, too loose. Too these-are-doing-nothing-for-my-legs-so-looks-like-I’ll-just-cover-them-forever. So we assume with all these issues surrounding shorts there are others out there struggling to find this summer staple that they love. And if you’re fortunate enough to have found that great pair of shorts, maybe you’re struggling making outfits with them and breathing life and personality into them. We’re here to inspire and help you get out of that rut. We LOVE our boyfriend jeans, but some days it’s just too damn hot to be in ankle grazing denim. Your search for the perfect pair is over; we’ve done our research to find some shorts that will show off your gams, help you looking chic, and keep you cool all summer long.
