I love leather. It’s got to be one of my favorite materials. It can take something simple and turn it into something magical. It’s that stand out fabric that doesn’t have to try that hard. It takes little accessorizing or thinking about what to wear with it because leather and a simple tee is all you need to be a model off duty. And boy do I miss it. It’s hot hot hot here in California, but I’m dreaming of cozying up to my leather pieces. So I decided to bust them out before the weather has cool and give them a spin that’ll work with the heat. Pairing a boho-feeling, white blouse with my leather mini and some slip-ons creates a perfect ensemble for this time of fashion transition.

What we’re loving at the moment is grey, grey, and more grey! Monochrome has never made me so proud as when I see it presented this way. If grey is the color of the wise, it is easy to see why, it is clean, chic, and so very sophisticated. The best part is, this trend is ready to be flaunted immediately and will continue to carry over into fall effortlessly. We see Mulberry’s interpretation with a grey on grey pattern for their Spring 2014 RTW line.
As we journey into pre-fall we see this gem from Ralph Lauren.
Before we know it Autumn will be upon us and we can continue to rock our all grey ensembles in thicker fabrications and knits with outfits inspired by Tory Burch and Haider Ackerman. (Notice Tory’s mixing of textures and sheen–love!)
Love the look as much as we do? Get inspired by these two all grey, all day, looks.

Dear Mom and Dad,
I write to thank you for being my source of inspiration for my latest look. Mom, who knew those high-waisted “mom jeans” you sported in the nineties would be one of my spring/summer obsessions, but alas, I rock this Topshop pair to the best of my ability. Dad, your sport coat inspired blazer, I picked up at a vintage store in Berlin, pairs nicely with the look adding a masculine edge. Paired with a ribbed white crop top and pointed toe Office booties I complete a look my parents would be proud of. Overall I am loving this outfit, and even in this hot hot summer heat, I can remove the blazer for a cooler look.
Thanks for the inspiration!!
P.S This is my last London look

I’M NOT THE BIGGEST FAN OF LACOSTE. I DON’T KNOW IF ITS BECAUSE POLOS AS EVERYDAY WEAR FREAK ME OUT OR THAT I JUST DON’T HAVE MUCH OF THAT PREPPY SPIRIT AS FAR AS MY FASHION IS CONCERNED. WHATEVER IT MAY BE, I HAD TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR THIS LACOSTE SWEATER, AS I CAME ACROSS IT IN A GOODWILL. I HAD SO MANY VISIONS FOR IT. I DREAMT OF THIS GORGEOUS PIECE PAIRED WITH A FABULOUS PAIRED OF RIPPED, TATTERED AND TORN HIGH-WAISTED BOYFRIEND JEANS OR WITH THE PERFECT PAIR OF SATIN JOGGERS. IT’S JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF PREPPY MEETS VINTAGE FOR IT TO BE A GOOD ADDITION TO MY CLOSET; IT ISN’T ONE OF THOSE ITEMS I “NEED” THAT ENDS UP SITTING THERE COLLECTING DUST. RATHER THAN JEANS OR JOGGERS, I PAIRED THIS LITTLE, CREAM SWEATER WITH A PINK, LINEN DRAWSTRING SKIRT AND MY GO-TO BIRKENSTOCKS. IT’S WARM HERE IN SUNNY SOUTHER CALIFORNIA, BUT THE SWEATER IS CROPPED AND LINEN LIGHT KEEPING ME COOL ON THIS GORGEOUS, BLUE-SKIES ONLY DAY.

With this being my first outfit post since back from London, you shouldn’t be surprised at all by the airy, white blouse and denim. After all, I am back in stereotypical, sunny Southern California, and to say it is sunny would be an incredibly large understatement. I think Alicia Keyes might say this town is on fire. With my car clocking in the weather at 100 degrees, it almost does feel like I’m strolling within an inferno with the chances of it consuming me at any minute. The craziest part? Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter. With that being said, I chose a perfect, loose blouse that still has some three-quarter sleeves, but it’s so breathable and fresh. I love how feminine it is, but the looseness of the blouse gives it that this-is-my-bofriend’s-shirt look that creates a carefree look. The juxtapose is perfection, and this is one of those shirts I’m going to be able to wear all year long. To dress down this somewhat frilly blouse, I added some frayed denim shorts and, of course, my beloved leopard Birkenstocks. Wether or not you like them, they are perfection in my eyes and at the end of the day that’s all that really matters. I threw on some fiery, orange lipstick to match the heat and ta-da, an outfit ready to keep me cool without abandoning all my love of fashion.

Black dress, check. Now what?
Everyone needs that perfect LBD to wear on nights out, but they can also serve as the perfect base for layering to create unique looks. Add tights, add sweaters add belts, the creative possibilities are endless. Here I added Anna’s baroque inspired sheer embroidered blouse, a sassy metal and leather belt from Nasty Gal, jewels from Forever 21, opaque black tights, and gold toe and pony hair boots from Steve Madden to turn this American Apparel little black dress from simple to chic. With just a few layered pieces you can completely transform any staple garment into a unique outfit. The moral of my story: don’t be afraid to explore the art of layering, the results will create an awe inspiring look truly unique to you. And whats better than your uniqueness? Nada.
